Omicron Update: There are a total of 32,263 cases in Indonesia (Wednesday, January 11, 2023)

GISAID noted that the development of cases of Covid-19 for the Omicron variant (B.1.1.529) in Indonesia has reached 32,263 cases as of Wednesday, January 11 2023. This Omicron variant in Indonesia has a difference of one case compared to the previous day. On a weekly basis, cases in Indonesia grew 1.57 percent.

With the number of Omicron variants, Indonesia is in first place in Southeast Asia. The country with the highest Omicron cases in Southeast Asia is still occupied by Malaysia with 26,159 cases.

Following Thailand, the weekly growth in the number of Omicron cases reached 2.65 percent. As for daily data, the number of Omicron cases in this country rose 1.61 percent compared to the previous day, which recorded 22,261 people.

Furthermore, Singapore with 17,650 cases of Omicron (up 1.86%), Philippines with 12,284 cases of Omicron (up 0.59%) and Vietnam with 4,974 cases of Omicron (up 2.18%)

The GISAID report stated that Omicron Covid-19 cases had been detected worldwide with a total of 7.14 million cases. The number of Covid-19 variants increased compared to the previous week which amounted to 7.05 million cases.
