PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) changed the name of its subsidiary, namely PT Mega Eltra to PT Pupuk Indonesia Niaga. In addition to the name, this change also aims to strengthen Pupuk Indonesia Niaga ‘s business capacity in the retail, trading and distribution sectors within the Pupuk Indonesia holding environment.
Main Director of Pupuk Indonesia, Bakir Pasaman, said strengthening Pupuk Indonesia Niaga was still part of the business transformation and streamlining program in which Pupuk Indonesia refocused and strengthened various business lines within the Pupuk Indonesia holding environment. Among them are strengthening retail, trade, and distribution business lines, both fertilizers, fertilizer raw materials, and various non-fertilizer products.
“In this case, Pupuk Indonesia Niaga will continue and strengthen its business capacity in the retail, trading and distribution sectors, both for fertilizer and non-fertilizer products,” Bakir explained.
Bakir further stated that in 2022 Pupuk Indonesia will conduct a study to strengthen business processes at Pupuk Indonesia Niaga. Furthermore, in 2023, Pupuk Indonesia will begin implementing the results of the study by compiling Pupuk Indonesia Niaga’s retail and trading business processes and schemes. One of the strategies to strengthen this business line is the rebranding of Mega Eltra to become Pupuk Indonesia Niaga.
Main Director of Pupuk Indonesia Niaga, Hilman Taufik, revealed that so far, Pupuk Indonesia Niaga sells various commercial fertilizer products for the food, plantation and industrial sectors. In addition, Pupuk Indonesia Niaga is also an official distributor that distributes subsidized fertilizers to support the government’s food security program.

Apart from fertilizers, Pupuk Indonesia Niaga also trades other Pupuk Indonesia Group products and raw materials and supporting materials for fertilizer production.
Hilman himself hopes that Pupuk Indonesia Niaga can become a major player in the country and have a more strategic role in trade and distribution at the global level. Moreover, the business of the Pupuk Indonesia group will continue to grow in the future, not just the fertilizer business.
“The trading and distribution business opportunities in the future are still very large. Therefore, we continue to improve capabilities in this field to increase competitiveness and provide added value. This is also a very prospective business for Pupuk Indonesia Niaga going forward,” said Hilman.
