Opposite hitter Jung Kwan Jang Red Sparks Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi was amazed by the support of Indonesian supporters in the Korean Volleyball League.
Megawati and Red Sparks played their final match in the first round of the Korean Volleyball League away to the Gwangju AI Peppers headquarters at Yeomju Gymnasium, Sunday (5/11).
Even though it was an away match, the number of Indonesian fans present at the stadium was far greater than in the last home match against Hi Pass.
When fighting Hi Pass, which ended in a 0-3 defeat, it was reported that there were 70 Indonesian supporters who came to Re Sparks’ home ground.
But when Red Sparks appeared at AI Peppers’ home ground, the number reached three buses, as Naver reported.
With loud voices, Indonesian fans provided support for Megawati and the Red Sparks. After the match Megawati felt ‘magical’ with the support.
“This often happens when international competitions are held abroad, but I didn’t expect so many people to come to the Korean stadium,” said Megawati.
“I think they filled about half of the stadium, so I’m grateful,” Megawati added.
The player who is nicknamed Megatron from the supporters also explained the origin of the great support from Indonesian supporters.
“Initially, Indonesian fans came by train separately. But now I understand that they come together by sharing a community,” said Megawati.
“Thank you for coming here,” Megawati continued.
