Indonesian Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan (LBP) has traveled to Singaporefor treatment to recover from extreme fatigue. Regarding the reason why he was treated in Singapore, Luhut revealed it in an upload on his Instagram social media account.
Through his personal Instagram account, @luhut.pandjaitan, Luhut explained the chronology of why he was treated.
“A few days ago after attending an activity, I suddenly felt very tired. This fatigue is unlike what I usually feel after work,” he wrote.
Seeing his husband’s unnatural condition, Luhut said his wife took him to a hospital in Jakarta for further preventive measures. With such a condition, Luhut said, practically for several days he was not allowed by the team of doctors to do his usual activities.
“Even to just check the latest news and updates that I routinely do every morning, I was not allowed by my wife. ‘Rest and listen to your body first, Pa’,” Luhut recalled.
As a person who is used to working and being active, Luhut said that being in the hospital for several days had made him quite bored. However, Luhut was confident in his wife’s attitude and the decision of the team of doctors that treatment was the best for him at this time.
“I understand that the duties and responsibilities as an official are absolutely known by the public, and for that, I feel the need to share with the public,” he said.
Luhut also said that he had received an offer from his friend, Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean, and Singapore Foreign Minister Dr. Vivian Balakhrisnan. For this reason, Tuesday (October 10, 2023) afternoon. Luhut decided to undergo a recovery stage in Singapore, as well as conduct a more comprehensive medical examination and evaluation of his health.
“Luckily, and once again this is the mystery of life that I never imagined. So much love came to me in the form of attention and prayers even when I was sick,” Luhut said.
Therefore, Luhut expressed his deepest gratitude, especially to President Joko Widodo, who has provided a team of presidential doctors and nurses to treat him until his current condition has improved.
At times like this, according to Luhut, the support and prayers given by family, friends, and all Indonesian people are the strength that encourages him to keep his spirits up to recover.
