KPK Chaiman Firli Bahuri Denies Allegations of Extortion, Gratification and Bribery

The Chairman of the Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Firli Bahuri, stated that he had never extorted or received bribes related to handling cases at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan).

“I, Firli Bahuri, state that there have never been extortion, gratification, and bribery activities,” Firli said in his statement, Friday, November 18, 2023.

Firli Bahuri also confirmed that when Jakarta Police investigators searched his house, no objects were confiscated.

“During the search at Firli Bahuri’s house, no confiscated objects were found related to the handling of legal issues at the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture from 2020 to 2023,” he said.

Firli hopes that this case will be resolved soon. “Let’s together realize justice and legal certainty because I have to complete the corruption cases that are still piling up, especially the big cases waiting to be resolved where I and other co-leaders work,” he added.

Firli Bahuri has been questioned twice in on the alleged extortion of former Indonesian Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo case.

Most recently, Firli was questioned at the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit on Thursday, November 16, 2023.

After being questioned for 3.5 hours, Firli covered his face as he was about to leave the Bareskrim Polri building.
