The Indonesian Ambassador for the Kingdom of Morocco accredited to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania Drs. H. Hasrul Azwar MM also attended the opening and expressed, “we hope that by participating in this exhibition, we can garner more Moroccan importers or buyers that will market and sell Indonesian products in Morocco and also introduce more Indonesian products to the Moroccan society.” Morocco’s Prime Minister, Aziz Akhannouch also attended the opening day.
The exhibition intends to promote agricultural development and potential in Morocco. There were more than 20 countries that participated in the event as well as numerous private companies and organizations from Morocco and outside of Morocco selling products and services such as vegetables, fruits, agricultural machineries, fertilizers, food processing products, and livestock. This is also the first time SIAM Meknes is held again after the pandemic hit in 2020.
The Embassy of Indonesia in Rabat has always participated in SIAM Meknes ever since its first edition. This year, the Embassy of Indonesia in Rabat collaborated with the Indonesia Trade and Promotion Center (ITPC) Barcelona because of the amount of Indonesian products coming to Morocco from EU countries, one of them being Spain. The Embassy of Indonesia in Rabat views that efforts to increase trade between Indonesia and Morocco needs to involve Indonesian business persons that have established their business in the European market, including Spain. The Indonesian booth was also covered by the medias such as SNRT Radio, Maroc 24, 2M TV, and Eco Press.
