Consumer Protection Speaks of Recent Coldplay Ticket Scams

The National Consumer Protection Agency (BPKN) deputy Mufti Mubarok on Thursday voiced concern on the rise of ticket sale scams related to the much-anticipated Coldplay concert scheduled to be held in Jakarta on November 15 this year.

Mufti said that the concert promotor will likely be summoned. “We will surely act on summoning the event organizers or music promotors of the concert.”

BKPM will summon the promoters for the Coldplay concert in Jakarta – handled by Third Eye Management and PK Entertainment – to better understand the preparation for the major concert in terms of safety, security, viewer capacity, and more.X

Mufti also highlighted the rights of consumers that must be met after they purchase the ticket according to the set procedure. “The fans should receive their rights and BPKN will oversee this issue,” he asserted.

As reported earlier, the Metro Jaya Police arrested a man identified as ABF (22) and W (24) who were named suspects of a ticket scam linked to the concert. The two turn out to be a married couple and were arrested in Yogyakarta.

The two were responsible for running the scam through multiple social media and a website, grabbing the attention of consumers who intend to watch the Coldplay concert.
