Ganjar-Mahfud Registratred for Presidential Elections, Megawati Says Both of Them Indonesia’s New Hope

The Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD officially registered for Presidential Elections, at the Indonesian KPU on the first day of the registration stage for presidential and vice presidential candidates, Thursday, October 19, 2023.

The KPU scheduled the pair to register at 11:00 Western Indonesia Time (WIB), but the Ganjar-Mahfud group entered the KPU RI Office at around 12:15 WIB. Ganjar-Mahfud became the second presidential and vice presidential candidate to register as a candidate for the 2024 presidential election.

General Chairperson of the PDI Perjuangan Megawati Soekarnoputri said that the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD was a new hope for the people to accelerate the prosperity and superiority of the Indonesian nation.

“Both of them raise new hopes for the Indonesian people, both of them will accelerate the prosperity and superiority of the nation,” Megawati said at the KPU RI Office, Jakarta, on Thursday, October 19, 2023.

According to her, Ganjar-Mahfud has been committed to upholding justice. They are also known as honest, trustworthy, and experienced leaders, Megawati said.

“Mr. Ganjar and Mr. Mahmud MD are known to be honest, clean, experienced complete with qualified leadership qualities,” she explained.

Therefore, Megawati said there was new hope for Indonesia on the shoulders of Ganjar-Mahfud. She also asked for the support of all Indonesian people so that Ganjar-Mahfud would be elected and win the 2024 presidential election.

Megawati also explained that her coalition parties had completed all the requirements for registering presidential and vice presidential candidates on the KPU‘s Candidacy Information System (Silon).

“We also bring the physical documents needed as part of the candidate pair registration procedure,” added the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia. (***)
