The boxcar with the registration number F-8611-HS crashed into a car, motorbike, meatball stall and barbershop kiosk on Jl Raya Bogor-Ciawi-Sukabumi (Bocimi), Caringin, Bogor, West Java. One person was injured in the incident.
“There were 4 vehicles involved, two cars and two motorbikes. One victim had minor injuries,” said Head of the Bogor Police Traffic Unit Gakkum, Ipda Angga Nugraha, Monday (13/11/2023).
Angga said the accident occurred when the box car was speeding from Sukabumi towards Ciawi Bogor.
At the scene of the incident, precisely on the downhill road in front of the Bakso Sarwo kiosk, the driver, Hamami, could not control his car and swerved to the left.
“The driver was not fully concentrating, then moved to the left and hit a Toyota Avanza which was stopped on the left shoulder of the road,” said Angga in his statement.
The box car continued to move then swerved to the right and left, until it hit two motorbikes parked on the left side of the road. The car then rolled over and hit a meatball kiosk and a barbershop kiosk.
“The victim with minor injuries, Hamami, was the driver of a box car. The condition of the car and motorbike that was hit was quite badly damaged. There was also damage to the front of the meatball kiosk and barbershop kiosk, the meatball cart was damaged because it was hit by a box car,” said Angga.
“We are investigating the case, the vehicle involved in the accident was evacuated to the accident unit. We are asking the driver and witnesses for information,” he added.
