Ministry of Industry: 8 Electric Motorcycle Manufacturers Receive IDR 7 Million Subsidy

The Ministry of Industry has recorded the number of electric motorbike companies that can receive government subsidy assistance through the Government Assistance and Fiscal Incentive for Battery-Based Electric Motor Vehicles (KBLBB) program. The value of the subsidy assistance provided is IDR 7 million per new motorbike unit.

Director General of the Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment and Electronics Industry (ILMATE) of the Ministry of Industry, Tafiek Bawazier, revealed that there are 8 companies with 13 models of electric motorbikes that can get this subsidy assistance. All these companies have met the government’s requirements, namely that their products have a Domestic Content Level (TKDN) of 40%.

“The number of two-wheeled KBLBB companies per TKDN is 40% today, 8 companies for 13 models. Manufacturing friends can now access it,” said Taufiek at the Office of the Coordinating Minister for Marves, Jakarta, Monday (20/3/2023).

This year, the Ministry of Industry is targeting electric motorbike subsidies to be given to 200 thousand new vehicles. Meanwhile, in 2024 it will increase to 600 thousand units.

The conditions that must be met by electric motorbike manufacturers are that they are produced domestically, TKDN is 40% and 1 NIK is only entitled to 1 purchase.

“Industry submits data and type models, frames, certificates, TKDN submits this system, then verification and manufacturing are provided with KUR data. So it is clear to the beneficiary that the dealer refers to the registered KTP and is entitled to a discount,” explained Taufiek.

Previously, the Ministry of Industry revealed that there were already 6 electric motorbike manufacturers that would receive government subsidies. Namely Gesits, Volta, Selis, Smoot, Viar, and United.
