Indonesian Police Prepare Security for Massive Rally in Support of Palestine at Monas

Several Indonesians are planning to hold a massive rally in support of Palestine at the National Monument(Monas), Central Jakarta.

The event, scheduled for today, will begin at 05.30 WIB and will feature speeches from various religious leaders, including the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).

The police have expressed their readiness to escort and ensure the smooth running of the event.

“Yes, we are ready. The point is that the ranks (of the Central Jakarta Metro Police) together with Polda Metro Jaya are ready to carry out security to serve tomorrow’s activities,” Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol Susatyo Purnomo Condro told reporters on Saturday, November 4, 2023.

Even so, Susatyo has not provided details about the number of police personnel who will be deployed to secure tomorrow’s event.

In addition, the traffic diversion plan is also still being coordinated with Polda Metro Jaya for tomorrow’s event.

“We hope that tomorrow’s activities can run safely, and orderly, the messages conveyed can also be accepted by the community and we make sure that the activities from the beginning to the last have no problems,” he added.
