Located in Jakarta, PLN Group signed a cooperation agreement with four Indonesian startups, namely Kanggo, Rekosistem, Imajin, and Fresh Factory, on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.
With this cooperation, PLN supports the growth of startups in Indonesia, while strengthening the company’s internal business.
The four startups are participants in the “Connext Powered by PLN” program, which includes incubation and collaboration activities with startups.
Hartanto Wibowo, Director of Corporate Planning and Business Development of PLN, said that the cooperation with four startups is a progressive step by the company to create a sustainable business ecosystem.
On the other hand, the collaboration is a real step for PLN to become the center of energy and electricity startups in Indonesia.
“This is a concrete form of PLN’s commitment to becoming an epicenter for energy, electricity, and derivative startups so that companies can continue to adapt to technological advances and changes in behavior that are all digital in the modern era,” he said.
In addition to strengthening PLN and startup businesses, this synergy is expected to contribute to providing solutions to local problems.
He also hopes that this cooperation will not stop here, but will continue to a wider level.
Hartanto revealed that PLN wants to position itself as the epicenter of energy startup development in Indonesia.
“So not only will we work with four startups but in the future we will try to build an ecosystem together and enjoy the development of the energy industry together,” he said.
This cooperation with startups is a new history for PLN, so in the future, it is expected to be able to work together better.
“Once again, this is not the end of PLN’s story with startups. In 2024 we have prepared a bigger program than 2023, the point is that we want to be the big house of the epicenter of Indonesian startup development,” Hartanto said.
Meanwhile, one of the startup representatives, Fresh Factory CEO Larry Ridwan welcomed the continuation of the signing of his company’s cooperation with PLN. According to him, it is important for his company to work with PLN in the electricity sector.
“We think there is no better partner to support us in this field than PLN. So I think the synergy will be extraordinary. This is just the beginning of the journey and God willing, this can lead us to become a unicorn,” he said.
