Ghisca Debora Aritonang (GDA), a 19 university student, has been named a suspect in a case of fraud and or embezzlement of Coldplay concert tickets in Indonesia. Unmitigated, the victims’ losses reached more than Rp.5.1 billion.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Commissioner Susatyo Purnomo Condro said the suspect was named based on 6 police reports received by his office.

“So, we have named GDA as a 19-year-old student, a resident of Cikupa, Tangerang Regency,” said Susatyo in a press conference at the Central Jakarta Metro Police Headquarters, quoted by pmjnews.com, Monday, November 20, 2023.

The suspect in the Coldplay concert ticket fraud and embezzlement case, Ghisca Debora Aritonang (19) is very professional in carrying out her actions.

The Indonesian Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) revealed the amount of money flowing into the student’s account which reached tens of billions of rupiah.

According to PPATK Head Ivan Yustiavandana, from 2023 until November before the suspect was arrested, it almost reached Rp 40 billion in several of his accounts.

“(Transactions) are in several accounts. In 2023 alone the turnover was almost IDR 40 M,” said Ivan Yustiavandana when contacted by reporters, on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.

Ivan explained, specifically in the time span related to Coldplay ticket sales between May during the initial ticket purchase period and the concert event in November 2023, the transaction flow reached IDR 30 billion.

“For May to November alone, it is above IDR 30 M. This means that the community’s losses are very large indeed,” said Ivan.

Even so, Ivan said that his party could not convey more details about the transactions from several suspect accounts. However, he ensured that several accounts owned by the suspect had been blocked.

“There are several (accounts). I can’t tell you the details. We have frozen the account concerned since last week,” he said.
