The LCT Rimba Raya XV ship sank in the waters of Sei Menggaris, Friday (3/11/2023) at around 22.30 WITA.
As a result, two passengers were declared missing, namely M Figil Syawal Agrefi (39) and M Dzulkifly (34). Meanwhile five others managed to survive. Later, M Figil Syawal Agrefi was found dead on Saturday (4/11/2022) afternoon.
Another victim, M Dzulkifly, was found by the joint SAR Team, Sunday (5/11/2023) at around 12.05 WITA. The victim was found with a radius of 2.1 NM from LKP (last known position). The victim is known to be a resident of Jalan Sungai Bolong Nunukan.
With the discovery of M Dzulkifly’s body, the SAR operation was declared complete and proposed to be closed.
“The combined elements involved, including the rescue team at Nunukan SAR post, Nunukan Navy post, Nunukan Transportation Agency, Nunukan BPBD, were returned to their respective units. In the search for victims, fishermen and the community also helped,” he said.

There were seven crew members on the ship who were Nunukan residents. Of the seven crew members, five of them managed to survive the incident. Meanwhile, two other people were declared missing.
