The Indonesian government is planning to pay off its debt to PT Pupuk Indonesia on the Rp16.7 trillion worth of subsidized fertilizer procurement from 2020 to 2022 period.
“It’s been processed. [Paying off the debt] this year,” said Vice Minister of SOEs Kartika Wirjoatmodjo when met on Tuesday, November 7.
A similar notion was also brought by the Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, claiming that the debt has been processed.
According to the President Director of PT Pupuk Indonesia Rahmad Pribadi, Indonesia’s debt of Rp16.7 trillion has been confirmed by the Ministry of Agriculture. “And I’ve checked on the Finance Ministry that the fund [to pay off the debt] has been prepared,” he said.
“If God is willing, the fund could be disbursed this month,” he added.
Tempo recorded a few months back that during a public hearing between PT Pupuk Indonesia and Commission IV of the House of Representatives, former President Director of the company Achmad Bakir Psaman mentioned that the state receivable potential of the Indonesian government amounted to Rp17 trillion.
Those receivables consisted of the Rp430 billion audited receivable in 2020 and the unaudited receivable in 2022 amounting to Rp16.6 trillion.
