The Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has finally named former Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) as a suspect in an Alleged bribery case at the Ministry of Agriculture.
The announcement of SYL‘s elevation to suspect was made by KPKDeputy Chairman Johanis Tanak at the KPK building on Wednesday evening, October 11, 2023.
According to Tanak, the determination of the suspect status was based on the inclusion of public reports, information, and data.
On that basis, the KPK was able and find a criminal event, thus establishing and announcing a suspect: Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL).
“SYL Minister of Agriculture for the 2019-2024 period; KS (or Kasdi Subagyono), Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture; and MH (or Muhammad Hatta), Director of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery,” said Tanak, who was wearing a white shirt.
On Wednesday afternoon, the KPK had scheduled the summons of three suspects related to an alleged corruption case within the Ministry of Agriculture.
One of the suspects who attended the summons was Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture Kasdi Subagyono. Kasdi was also shown to the media when Tanak made the announcement.
The other two suspects are former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo and Director of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery at the Ministry of Agriculture Muhammad Hatta. SYL and Hatta did not respond to the summons.
“Therefore, we ask for your cooperation,” Tanak said.
