The Ministry of Health will hold the “Ayo Sehat Fest” in Jakarta on November 11-12 in commemoration of the 59th National Health Day and as an effort to strengthen health promotion and disease prevention activities.
The ministry’s Director General of Public Health Maria Endang Sumiwi explained in a media briefing here on Friday that the festival also aims to realize more healthy communities.
Sumiwi remarked that the Ayo Sehat Fest will present events illustrating the human life cycle starting from pregnancy and lactating mothers, infants and toddlers, children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly.
“(The human life cycle approach) is what underlies the Ayo Sehat Fest, so that every Indonesian can go through every stage of their lives healthily,” Sumiwi affirmed.
She revealed that the Ayo Sehat Fest will feature several activity zones that represent each phase of human life. Each zone has its own activities that will boost its participants’ health according to their phase of life.
Sumiwi elaborated that in the “pregnancy and lactating mothers” zone, some activities will include pregnancy checks and examinations using an ultrasound (USG) device.
The event will also feature a fitness zone that holds various fitness classes.
Moreover, several other activities at the event, include the 5.9K Healthies Fun Run, the Integrated Health Post (Posyandu) Cadre Jamboree, and several health-related talk shows.
The event is free and will be held at the Aquatic Stadium, Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Sports Complex, Jakarta.
“This event and the examinations are all open to the public and free of charge,” Sumiwi remarked.
She noted that through this event, the ministry seeks to strengthen its relations with several health partners, who have been striving to realize health transformation in Indonesia.
