This smart energy solution product was displayed by PLN Icon Plus at the largest electricity and energy conference and exhibition in the Southeast Asian region, namely ENLIT Asia 2023 which carries the theme “Strengthening ASEAN Readiness in Energy Transition” on November 14-16, 2023 recently.
PLTS or Rooftop Solar Power Plant (PLTS) is a power plant that utilizes renewable energy sourced from sunlight to produce electrical energy. The utilization of renewable energy makes PLTS one of the solutions to reduce carbon emissions and cost-efficiency in electricity use.
At the ENLIT Asia 2023 event, PLN Icon Plus had the opportunity to showcase PV Rooftop as a product of the latest technology in the field of renewable energy so that PV Rooftop services can reach a wider community. Interestingly, PLN Icon Plus bundles PV Rooftop services with smart home services in the “Smart & Green Solution” package.
“One of our strategies to monetize the rooftop solar panel business is to integrate it with smart home services. Customers will get the experience of using Rooftop PV while enjoying the ease and comfort of smart home services supported by reliable internet services,” explained PLN Icon Plus President Director Ari Rahmat Indra Cahyadi.
Currently, PLN Icon Plus as the Beyond kWh Subholding of PT PLN (Persero) offers PV Rooftop services to the public. Interested people can apply for PV Rooftop installation through the PLN Mobileapplication.
PV Rooftop is a form of long-term investment that can produce and provide benefits for up to 25 years. Not only benefits for the owner but also benefits for environmental sustainability.
As an illustration, the installation cost of a 1 kWp PV Rooftop is Rp. 23.7 million with potential savings of Rp. 240 thousand per month or Rp. 2.88 million per year. Meanwhile, for a 2 kWp PV Rooftop, an investment of Rp. 37.6 million is required. The potential savings are Rp. 470 thousand per month or Rp. 5.64 million per year. Savings are also highly dependent on electricity usage during the day.
